6 Reasons to Watch "Good Mythical Morning"

Good Mythical Morning is awesome. Let's talk about that.

You may be wondering, like I was not too long ago, what on earth is Good Mythical Morning? GMM is a morning talk show hosted by YouTubers Rhett and Link. Every morning, an approximately 10-minute video is uploaded, discussing anything and everything. (Really.)

I wasn't sure what GMM was until my brother told me to watch it, and since then, I've spent many late nights watching it. Here are some reasons why you, too, should watch Good Mythical Morning.

1. It's interesting.

I've never been a huge fan of talk shows. Occasionally I'll like one, but for the most part, I'm not convinced. Why should I spend my time listening to people talk about stuff?

Rhett and Link, however, are enthralling. I can't explain it. For the majority of their videos, they just sit there talking, but somehow it's the most interesting thing in the world. They've gotten me to listen to videos about tiny house living and urban legends. When I watch their videos, I'm hooked on every word, waiting for something to make me laugh. Which brings me to my next point.

2. It's funny.

The dynamic between Rhett and Link is both adorable and hilarious. They've been friends since they were six years old, and it shows. They're hilarious together, whether they mean to be or not. My favorite part is when they laugh at each other's jokes, which makes me laugh. It's wonderful.

But no matter what, you'll hardly ever catch Rhett and Link making dirty jokes. Which brings me to...

3. It's clean.

It's rare to find something that the whole family can enjoy, especially on YouTube. While I'm used to edgy content for the most part, it's still extremely refreshing to find something that doesn't rely on inappropriateness to make a punchline. Numerous times, I've told my family that we need to watch it all together. To me, that's awesome.

4. It pushes the limits.

While GMM may be clean, that doesn't mean Rhett and Link play it safe. As Rhett and Link themselves said, "If it says it's non-toxic, you might as well find us eating it." (I paraphrased that.) In one of their segments, they ask questions like, "Will it cereal? Will it popsicle?" Then they take different foods (or non-foods) and try to make them as close to the food as possible. The goal, of course, is to see how they measure up. They've done everything from eating crayon ice cream sandwiches to eating liver popsicles. While it may be gross at times, at least Rhett and Link take the real risks so that we don't have to.

5. It comes out every morning!
6. There is so much of it.

With the exception of brief breaks, GMM comes out every morning, Monday through Friday. They just started season 7 on January 12th. Because of this, there are hundreds of videos. It's a treasure trove of awesomeness.

And with that, I will leave you with one of my personal favorite GMMs.

I was not compensated for this article. I am simply a fan. A really big one.
